As JC&A celebrates its 30th Anniversary, it is only fitting to spotlight a Partner whose career has grown alongside the company itself. John Noone, Partner and VP of Field Operations, has been a cornerstone of JC&A for nearly 25 years, joining the team on September 23, 2002, when the company was still in its early days.
Introduced to JC&A through a former colleague, John was drawn to the company’s vision and potential at a time when it was just six years old. That instinct proved right. Over the decades, he has not only witnessed JC&A’s evolution, he has helped shape it. Starting as a Superintendent, John built his career in the field, gaining firsthand experience where it matters most on the jobsite. Today, he leads that same group of superintendents at the Partner level, reinforcing the idea that JC&A’s success is built from the ground up by the people in the field.
John’s leadership journey reached a defining milestone in 2011 when he was promoted to Director of Field Operations, a moment he still considers his proudest at JC&A. It was a recognition not just of his hard work, but of his deep commitment to the company and its people. For John, “The JC&A Way” is rooted in that commitment: hard work, dedication, teamwork, delivering successful projects, and recognizing those who make it all happen.
Throughout his career, John has contributed to a number of standout projects, including GE Sensing in Billerica, NESN in Watertown, and Wyeth in Cambridge, projects that remain among his personal favorites. Beyond the buildings, it is the relationships and traditions that stand out most. One of his favorites is the annual Superintendent’s golf outing, a long running event that continues to bring the team together and is eagerly anticipated year after year.
Outside of work, John is a dedicated father, coach, and avid golfer. Now an empty nester, he spends much of his time on the golf course or connecting with peers at industry events. Many at JC&A fondly remember the day he had to step out of a meeting for an urgent call, only to return with the news that he was expecting his fourth child. Over the years, the JC&A community has watched his children grow up at company events, making it all the more meaningful to see them now thriving as adults.
That connection came full circle when his son, John Michael, was awarded the JC&A Memorial Scholarship, an honor established to celebrate the legacy of JC&A superintendents and support the next generation through academic and community achievement.
Reflecting on his time with the company, John shares that he is proud to have grown alongside JC&A for more than two decades. From a small, ambitious firm to the respected organization it is today, he has seen it all and remains excited for what lies ahead.
