Marlborough’s Newest Hotel Creates Work-Play-Stay Destination
J. Calnan & Associates (JC&A), CSM Corporation and Group One Partners recently completed the ground-up construction of the new Hilton Garden Inn located in Marlborough, MA. The newest hotel in the area, Hilton Garden Inn Boston/Marlborough is owned and managed by CSM and is located in the thriving Marlborough Hills development. The upscale business hotel offers 160 rooms and suites; 4,800 square feet of flexible meeting space; a full service BLVD restaurant and bar including two corporate private dining spaces; fitness room; pool; conference facilities and breakout rooms.
The Hilton Garden Inn Boston/Marlborough totals 105,000 square feet and was built using steel and wood-framed podium construction.
The project team included: Group One Partners, architects; Civil Engineers, SMMA; Structural Engineers, Veitas and Veitas and Mechanical Engineer, Wozny Barbar.
The Marlborough Hills development has transformed an outdated, vacant business park, previously home to Hewlett-Packard, into one of the most vibrant mixed-use development centers in New England, featuring commercial office, retail, residential, hotel, and pedestrian space.
JC&A also renovated the two existing buildings for Atlantic Management in that development that comprised of 750,000 square feet for GE Healthcare and Quest Diagnostics. The work included a new building envelope consisting of metal panels, windows, and new roof system. The existing MEP, FP systems all needed extensive work as well and bathroom cores had to be gutted and rebuilt to meet current building codes. Additionally, extensive site work and landscaping had to be done to allow this site to compete in today’s real estate market.
