Construction Management Team Collaborates to Build-Out and Expand 150,000 for Owens and Minor
4/16/2010, Quincy, MA — J. Calnan & Associates, Inc., one of New England’s leading construction management firms, announced today that it was awarded the pre-construction and construction management services for Owens & Minor, a leading distributor of national name-brand medical and surgical supplies and a healthcare supply-chain management company. This project will be a collaborative effort between Owens and Minor; landlord, TA Realty; architect, Packard Design; construction manager, J. Calnan & Associates; engineer, WB Engineers; Conveying System Contractor, PeakLogix and project management firm, Maverick Project Management.
Located in Franklin, MA, Owens & Minor leased 147,578 square feet at 20 Freedom Way, more than tripling their original footprint. The team is currently working to upgrade the facility’s lighting to high output T5 lighting, adding HVAC systems as well as installing a new cutting-edge conveying system to support Owens and Minor’s expanding supply chain operations. In an effort to accommodate the growing workforce, the team is also building out new office space and restrooms as well as providing multiple generators to back up the entire facility.
