It’s been two years (this month!) since Emily Rivoira joined JC&A, but in that short time she has made a lasting impact. As a recent UConn grad with a desire to move to Boston, Emily began as an intern with the marketing team, and quickly became an invaluable member. Within a month, Emily was promoted from intern to Marketing Coordinator, which she says is her “proudest moment” with JC&A; “knowing that the company saw me as a valuable member of their team and wanted me to be a part of it is such a great feeling.”
Emily is the go-to gal for proposals, often a clients’ first real look at who we are and what we do, and she can always be relied on to turn requests around fast. “To me, ‘The JC&A Way’ is all about team and support. Whether we are showing up for the community through a JCAres event, for a project milestone, or collaborating in the office, there are always teammates by your side, and it is always a group effort. Being a part of a team of people whose company you enjoy has a huge impact. When we are on a project site or at an industry event, I am always proud to say I am from JC&A!”
Emily is an active member of JCAres and has become a huge asset to PLA! Professional Ladies Association, helping promote and execute events, showing off her photography skills, and even sometimes acting as the event DJ! October features two big events for JCAres and PLA!, Light the Night for LLS and the PLA! for Ellie fundraiser brunch, both of which Emily is deeply involved in. Coincidentally, both events are coming up on October 19th . The PLA! for Ellie fundraiser brunch is PLA!’s largest event of the year, featuring multiple guest speakers and a silent auction. This year, the team hopes to raise $20,000 for the Ellie Fund, a local non-profit that lends emotional, physical and financial support to women battling breast cancer diagnoses.
As we all know, the marketing team loves planning a party, and Emily fits right in! In fact, she says that the annual employee holiday celebration is her favorite JC&A tradition. “I love being together as a whole company and celebrating all we have achieved over the year. I happened to join JC&A the month we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. It was an amazing accomplishment and celebration, and I can’t wait to celebrate 27 this year and many more in the future!”
