JC&A Delivers State-of-the-Art Headquarters for AI Institute in Cambridge, MA

J. Calnan & Associates (JC&A), a leading provider of preconstruction and construction management services in the Northeast, proudly announces the completion of the AI Institute’s new 85,000 SF headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The project was a collaborative effort with Bergmeyer and RMF Engineering, designed to create a cutting-edge research and development (R&D) space that blends the best features of a university research lab with those of a corporate development environment.

The AI Institute, headquartered in Cambridge, is a research-driven organization dedicated to solving the most critical challenges in robotics and artificial intelligence. The Institute unites top talent in robotics, AI, machine learning, computer science, and engineering to advance the development of the next generation of intelligent machines.

The newly completed R&D space features state-of-the-art robotics research and development labs with exposed grid ceilings, a variety of meeting rooms tailored for both large and small groups, and a mix of open and private office spaces. Additionally, the headquarters boasts a café designed to accommodate both employees and large catered events.

JC&A partnered closely with the AI Institute to design and install a comprehensive audiovisual (AV) system for the new space. In anticipation of the Institute’s formal move-in, JC&A also prioritized the expansion of an existing Main Distribution Frame (MDF) room, ensuring a smooth migration of the Institute’s networks.

We’re thrilled to have partnered with the AI Institute,” said David Conner, Partner and Director of Project Management at JC&A. “Their creativity and ingenuity have always impressed us, and it was a pleasure to work with them on this project.”

The AI Institute joins a prestigious list of clients within JC&A’s robotics portfolio, including Boston Dynamics, iRobot, Amazon Robotics, Berkshire Grey, Locus Robotics, and Righthand Robotics.
