J. Calnan & Associates (JC&A) is proud to announce that we will once again be recognized as one of Massachusetts’ most charitable companies by the Boston Business Journal at their 2025 Corporate Citizenship Awards. This marks our 19th consecutive year receiving this prestigious honor.
JC&A is especially proud to have ranked #1 in volunteer hours for the past three years, and we’re hopeful to defend our top spot again this year. While we may not rival the Fortune 500 companies in total dollars donated, our consistent leadership in volunteer hours speaks volumes about the culture we’ve built—one that prioritizes showing up, giving back, and supporting the communities where we live and work.
Our passion for giving back was also the catalyst for the creation of Team IMPACT, which was founded in our Quincy office in 2011. JC&A is proud to be a founding member of this incredible organization. Since its inception, Team IMPACT has matched nearly 4,000 children and their families across all 50 states with more than 829 colleges and universities—impacting over 100,000 student-athletes and changing lives through the power of team.
From coaching youth sports and building beds for children in need, to supporting the Special Olympics and delivering meals for Father Bill’s, our team remains deeply committed to making a lasting difference. Through the passion and leadership of our JCAres committee, giving back is not just encouraged—it’s ingrained in who we are.
“We’re honored to be recognized by the BBJ for nearly two decades,” said Jay Calnan, CEO of JC&A and Co-founder of Team IMPACT. “What sets us apart is not just the dollars given, but the heart, time, and personal commitment our team invests into causes that matter. This award reflects the collective impact of every employee who raises their hand and asks, ‘How can I help?’
At JC&A, giving back isn’t a box we check—it’s part of who we are. From our JCAres initiatives to the creation of Team IMPACT, we’ve built a culture grounded in integrity, service, and meaningful relationships. We lead with intention, we act with compassion, and we believe that the greatest measure of success is the impact we have on others. I couldn’t be prouder of our team and the example they continue to set.”
In 2024, JC&A also ranked #79 in cash contributions—alongside many of our valued clients and partners including Biogen, Sun Life U.S., Pega, and Middlesex Savings Bank. Our longstanding partnership with Team IMPACT and our collaboration with Biogen and Food For Free are just a few examples of how we continue to build strong, meaningful relationships within the community.
JC&A will be celebrated alongside other honorees at the BBJ’s 20th Annual Corporate Citizenship Awards on Wednesday, September 10th at Big Night Live in Boston.
