9/24/2010, Quincy, MA — For the fourth consecutive year, J. Calnan & Associates, Inc. ranked among the top corporate charitable givers in Massachusetts according to a recent report by the Boston Business Journal. The company was recognized for its charitable giving and for the contributions made by J. Calnan & Associates’ employees and ranked #5 overall for average per-employee volunteer hours.
The announcement was made recently at the fourth annual Corporate Philanthropy Summit held at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel which was attended by nearly 1000 leaders representing a wide range of local and national companies with a presence in Massachusetts as well as many non-profit organizations.

J. Calnan & Associates has always been involved with and continues to give time and financial resources to organizations like The United Way, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Children’s Hospital, and the Jimmy Fund. Last year, JC&A had the opportunity to grant a Make-A-Wish child his wish of having a pirate ship themed tree house; build a new bakery for the St. Coletta and Cardinal Cushing School of Massachusetts and convert a basement into a handicapped accessible living area for a child recently involved in a hockey accident.
This year, however, J. Calnan & Associates had the opportunity to get involved with a very special organization called Friends of Jaclyn, a 501(c)(3) charity that helps children suffering from pediatric brain tumors by pairing them with an athletic team that provides the sick child continuous love, friendship and support throughout their treatment and beyond. JC&A now runs all of FOJ’s marketing, accounting and philanthropic efforts in-house. Since JC&A got involved, they have created a business structure identifying clear roles and responsibilities, marketing collateral including a new website, pamphlets and brochures and a held a fundraiser netting over $250,000 for the cause all while creating much needed awareness for FOJ. To date we have paired over 200 children with athletic teams across the country!
