J. Calnan & Associates (JC&A), recently joined the Bose Professional team to celebrate the grand opening of their new global headquarters at 117 South Street in Hopkinton, MA. The 56,300-square-foot state-of-the-art facility represents an exciting new chapter for Bose Professional, which now operates as an independent company focused exclusively on delivering professional audio solutions worldwide.
Formerly a division of audio equipment maker Bose Corporation, Bose Professional was acquired by private equity firm Transom Capital Group in 2023. The move enables the company to concentrate on its commercial and conferencing markets, while Bose Corporation continues to focus on consumer products. The new headquarters was repositioned specifically for Bose Professional by Boston-based real estate firm Rhino Capital Advisors, which purchased the building from Dell EMC and partnered with JC&A to bring the vision to life.
The facility reflects Bose Professional’s mission of innovation and technical excellence, featuring a cutting-edge sound stage for speaker testing and showcasing, along with multiple research and development zones tailored to support both current and future product lines.
JC&A was honored to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony and is proud to have played a role in shaping a dynamic, long-term home for the next phase of Bose Professional’s evolution.
“This project represents everything we value in a partnership—vision, collaboration, and a commitment to quality,” said Jim Cahill, President of JC&A. “We’re incredibly proud to help bring this next chapter of Bose Professional to life and to deliver a space that not only meets the technical demands of their work but also inspires innovation and connection.”
The Hopkinton headquarters is the latest milestone in a longstanding collaboration between JC&A and Bose entities. Before Bose Professional became an independent company, JC&A completed a series of transformative projects for Bose Corporation across multiple locations.
In Framingham, JC&A reimagined the company’s headquarters by constructing a new 12,000- square-foot kitchen and café, followed by a state-of-the-art seven-room conference center. The work included significant infrastructure upgrades—such as underground utility improvements and the installation of new rooftop mechanical units—all completed in meticulously planned phases to ensure uninterrupted café operations.
Over in Westborough, JC&A led the dramatic conversion of an 80,000-square-foot facility, creating 65,000 square feet of modern office environments alongside 15,000 square feet dedicated to highly specialized acoustical sound rooms and demo areas. These sound-critical spaces were constructed independently from the building’s structural frame to eliminate vibration interference. A new loading dock bay was also added to enhance functionality and operational flow.
From high-performance sound environments to dynamic collaboration spaces, JC&A’s work with Bose Professional exemplifies a shared commitment to innovation, precision, and lasting partnership.
