Catch Up With Victoria Young

Victoria Young, Assistant Project Manager, began as a summer intern and quickly transitioned into a more permanent position as a Project Coordinator. Nearly a year ago, she made the transition into her current role.

In learning some of the JC&A traditions, Victoria has found the community service opportunities as a great way to get involved in the company and community. Making lunches for Father Bills and participating in the Light the Night Walk for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society have been two memorable events that she has taken part in since starting with JC&A.

“Gathering in the cafe to pack lunches for Father Bills has continued to be a feel-good activity with many smiles and laughs with colleagues,” said Victoria. “Similarly, the Light the Night Walk has been such a powerful and positive experience for a cause that is very emotional.”

Having started more than a year and half ago, Victoria has been a part of some amazing projects. She really enjoys a project that she is currently involved in at 140 Kendrick Street. Specifically, Wellington Management has been exciting for her because of the project team, but also the design of the fit out has proven to be very detail-oriented with a lot of coordination. “There are a lot of parties involved in this project, so it has been challenging yet very rewarding to see the details and designs come to life,” said Victoria.

The JC&A Way can be found in the spirit of each employee. For Victoria, it really emphasizes the relationships and camaraderie that the company shares internally with one another, but also with clients, subcontractors and other team members. She explained, “I can always count on someone in the office to be able to put a smile on my face, and it is so encouraging to see colleagues caring about one another and the work that they are doing.”

When asked about her proudest moment, Victoria said, “My proudest moment at JC&A was probably when my first project was completed, which was N-Able in Burlington. Although I began with little to no experience on that job, I quickly learned from a great project team and got to experience the whole tenant fit out process.”

Victoria feels the constant love and support from JC&A. She looks forward to her continued growth with the company and the endless opportunities to give back.
