Some people measure success by the buildings they complete. Stephane measures it by the teams that build them.
In his five and a half years at JC&A, Stephane has grown from Senior Project Manager to Project Executive, contributing to some of our most complex Life Sciences and Medical Technology projects while building project teams that are just as strong as the spaces they deliver.
When Stephane was exploring his next career move, he wasn’t looking for just another company. He was looking for an opportunity where his Life Sciences expertise could make a meaningful impact.
“I didn’t interview anywhere else,” he says. “There was a clear opportunity to leverage my experience, continue to grow, and make a difference.”
Today, that impact can be seen across two of his favorite projects—880 Winter Street and the ongoing campus transformation for a Confidential Client.
At 880 Winter Street, Stephane was part of the team that transformed a former office building into a state-of-the-art Life Sciences campus featuring advanced laboratory space, TScan Therapeutics’ headquarters, modern tenant amenities, and LEED Gold certification.
At the Confidential Client campus, he continues to be part of a team delivering a complex, multi-phase design-build program featuring specialized manufacturing, laboratory, office, and patient-focused spaces—all while construction continues within an active, occupied campus.
Ask Stephane what he’s most proud of, and he won’t talk about square footage or project milestones. He’ll talk about the people.
“I’m proud of the internal team we’ve helped develop,” he says. “Everyone steps in to help one another, everyone performs at their best, and together we’ve built a culture within our culture where people genuinely enjoy coming to work every day.”
Step into one of JC&A’s project trailers on any of the jobs he’s a part of and you’ll notice more than drawings, schedules, and safety signage. You’ll also find team photos, client testimonials, framed inside jokes, and reminders of the relationships built throughout the project. It’s a reflection of a team that enjoys working together, celebrates one another’s successes, and takes pride in what they’re building.
That people-first mindset defines Stephane’s leadership style. He’s often the first to celebrate the accomplishments of others, making sure every success is shared. While he’ll acknowledge the complexity of the work, he’s far more likely to recognize the people who make it possible.
To Stephane, that’s the JC&A Way.
“Team. Culture. Leadership that’s accessible.”
For Stephane, that accessibility starts at the top. Whether it’s President Jim Cahill responding to emails, picking up the phone, or stopping by jobsites to check in, leadership isn’t removed from the work—it’s part of it.
“People can be themselves here,” Stephane says. “There’s no pressure to fit into a mold. Everyone is encouraged to create their own path.”
Having come from a more rigid environment, Stephane values the freedom to lead authentically while helping each project team build its own unique culture.
Whether he’s hunting, fishing, snowboarding, or spending time in Maine with his wife, Bryony, and their dog, Franky, Stephane enjoys making memories with teammates, clients, and project partners. You may even spot a few of those moments on the walls of a project trailer.
For Stephane, the relationships built along the way are every bit as rewarding as the projects themselves. That’s the JC&A Way.
