CATCH UP WITH SHAUN HASTINGS

Five years ago, Shaun Hastings joined JC&A as a co-op during his senior year of college. He quickly realized through experiencing the culture, people, and team spirit at JC&A that this was where he wanted to be long term.

Shaun then joined the team full time as an Estimating Coordinator, and eventually earned the role of Project Estimator, an important part of projects such as Akamai, AI Institute, Draeger Medical, N-Able, and Poly and Falcon Investments in New York. He cites this promotion as his proudest moment at JC&A, recalling “it was a goal I had since the first day I came to JC&A. To be recognized and appreciated by upper management is something that meant a lot to me”.

Shaun’s hard work and dedication are definitely noticed by all. He is one of the most active members of JCAres, attending multiple events a year, including the Polar Plunge, the annual Interfaith Social Services Stop, The Stigma 5K, the Animal Rescue League of Boston Volunteer Day, Special Olympics and the Heading Home shelter” beautification project. Shaun even continued to return every few months to the Heading Home house to mow the lawn and help with upkeep on the exterior of the home! When he looks back on his 5+ years at JC&A, he is proud to say he works at a company that puts such an emphasis on giving back to the community  where he has been able to support numerous good causes.

Shaun brings that same energy and involvement to JC&A internal events as well. His favorite JC&A tradition is the annual summer outing that happens in our Quincy office back parking lot, like our recent cornhole tournament. For him, it’s a great way to connect with people from JC&A that he doesn’t always get to work with directly.

To Shaun, the JC&A way means “giving back to the community, building relationships, and being a team player that works alongside the project team to complete successful projects time and time again”. It’s clear that Shaun exemplifies these values and is an important part of the JC&A team!
