March is National Women in Construction month, so it seems fitting to spotlight the woman who keeps our JC&A HQ running smoothly – Marci Brundage!
For 17 (!) years, Marci has shared her bubbly personality and covetable organizational skills with all of us at JC&A, first as the Receptionist before growing into her current role as Office Manager.
Marci is everyone’s go-to for ensuring the proper contracts, subcontracts and insurance is in place for each project, making her a critical member of each project team. She expertly manages the day-to-day of running our office, including organizing the fun team-building events that we all enjoy, like our annual pre-Super Bowl cook-off and the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day celebration. If it sounds like Marci has a lot on her plate, she does – but that’s what she enjoys most! Her favorite part of her job is how varied her day-to-day responsibilities are and having the opportunity to have her hands in different areas of the organization.
When we asked Marci what the “JC&A Way” means to her, she replied with one word: FAMILY. “So many of us have spent such a large portion of our careers together, we truly know each other and care about one another. It’s family!” Naturally, Marci’s two favorite JC&A traditions both have to do with that magic word; family. “The Spooktacular is so fun – I love getting to see everyone’s kids having fun and watching them grow throughout the years.” Another favorite annual event is the Bongi turkey giveaway on Thanksgiving Eve. “It’s such a nice tradition and everyone is so appreciative! It’s a great way to start the holiday season and speaks to the character of JC&A.” We have to agree with you, Marci!
In her time off, Marci is passionate about traveling, having visited China, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, and France. While she looks forward to adding more stamps to her passport soon, Marci considers Martha’s Vineyard as her home away from home, and can often be found there visiting her best friend and Goddaughter.
