“They say when you do what you what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life which is what I’ve learned working with JC&A.”
You can’t help but smile when you think about Dom Lagonigro, this month’s Spotlight Employee. He’s always quick to offer a hug, a handshake, a kind word. He is the man behind the cases of homemade sausages and wine that we indulge in every Christmas season. Many may not know this, but Dom is famous among the NY team for hosting pool parties for the team at his home! Dom shows the same dedication to his clients and projects as a JC&A NY Superintendent that he does to his local church, where he spends countless hours volunteering and running donation drives as a member of the Knights of Columbus. He appreciates that JC&A is so supportive of his work in the community, most notably his tradition of shopping for Toys for Tots, which “brings nothing but joy to my heart and happiness to many children”.
Dom’s relationship with JC&A began in 2003, working alongside Jim Kramer in the JC&A NY office as a laborer. “My proudest moment working with JC&A was in 2019, when they asked me to join the team permanently as a Superintendent. I knew saying yes came with loyalty and family values, which is what I’ve always admired about JC&A.” Dom says that the first time he met Jay, Jim and the rest of the original partners, he knew that “working with them was going to make me not only a better worker but a better person”.
Dom has worked on many great projects with our team over the past 20 years, including Barnard College, Unicef, and Carnegie Hall Tower, but credits Constant Contact on Battery Place as his favorite; “It was a huge job that allowed me and my team to have a lot of flexibility. Working together on this brought out amazing team-working skills and ended with a happy client.”
When asked what the “JC&A Way” means to him, Dom responded that, “Over the years, I’ve learned that JC&A is not only a company but it is a family, which is was drew me to want to continue my career with them.” It’s safe to say that we are all lucky that Dom joined this big happy family!
