Megan Kukal Sabourin’s journey with JC&A is a story of growth, dedication, and family—both within the company and in her personal life. What began nearly two decades ago as a co-op position has blossomed into an incredible career marked by both professional achievements and personal milestones. Over the years, Megan has not only grown within JC&A, but the JC&A family has expanded alongside hers, with the birth of her two boys, Cooper and Connor, adding a new layer of meaning to her journey.
Megan initially came to JC&A with experience from both larger firms and a start-up, unsure of where she would ultimately fit. However, after completing her co-op with us and studying abroad, she knew without a doubt that JC&A was the right place. From her early days as a Co-op/Project Coordinator to her current role as a Senior Project Manager, Megan has risen through the ranks, managing complex and highly successful projects along the way. Notable projects she’s worked on include 200 Forest St., BioV, and 245 5th Ave., each representing her expertise and leadership in delivering exceptional results for our clients.
One of Megan’s proudest moments at JC&A is being part of the of 245 5th Ave project, a 262,000-square-foot lab development that transformed two parking lots, to a 40’+ hole in the ground, to a dynamic, six-story building. “It’s been quite a ride with such a great team,” Megan says. This project, along with many others, speaks to her exceptional leadership and ability to navigate the complexities of large-scale developments. Yet, Megan’s role at JC&A has always been more than just about managing projects—it’s been about building relationships and creating an environment where others can thrive. She takes great pride in mentoring colleagues, particularly the PCs and APMs, and watching them grow into confident professionals who go on to lead successful projects of their own.
For Megan, The JC&A Way is about doing your best—not only for yourself but for the team and the clients as well. It’s about taking the time and care to build lasting relationships, showing respect and pride in your work, and always upholding a commitment to quality. These values have guided Megan throughout her career and are reflected in everything she does.
Megan’s connection to JC&A goes beyond the work itself; it’s rooted in the sense of family and tradition that the company fosters. One of her fondest memories is receiving the annual Thanksgiving Turkey—a cherished tradition she looks forward to each year. Megan recalls her first Thanksgiving at JC&A, her first away from home, when she spent the entire day calling her mom to ensure she was cooking everything just right. These moments, along with others like bringing Cooper to meet Santa at the office, are a testament to the strong bonds of family that have shaped her experience at JC&A.
Megan’s story is a great example of how JC&A is more than just a workplace. It’s a place where employees grow both personally and professionally in a supportive, family-like environment. Megan’s dedication, leadership, and positive impact will continue to resonate within our team and the work we do. As her own family continues to grow, so too will her contributions to JC&A—a true reflection of the lasting relationships she has built, both at work and in her life.
